Bills vs Patriots Recap
The Buffalo Bills survived a slow start against a resilient New England Patriots team to win 24-21 and move to 12-3 on the year. Drake Maye led the Patriots on back-to-back scoring drives to start the game and build a 14-0 lead. Buffalo fought back with 24 unanswered points, assisted by an improved second-half defensive effort that forced three turnovers.
Week 16: Bills vs Patriots Preview
The Buffalo Bills return home after their victory over the Detroit Lions to face the 3-11 New England Patriots. This is the first of two matchups over the final three weeks of the season for the AFC East rivals. With the two teams heading in different directions, Buffalo needs to keep its focus and continue its solid play for the remainder of the season. New England wants something positive to end a disappointing season under first-year head coach Jerod Mayo.
Bills at Lions Recap
The Buffalo Bills knocked off the Detroit Lions 48-42, ending their 11-game winning streak. Buffalo never trailed in the game, with scores on their first three drives before heading into halftime up 21-14. The second half saw two punts and 55 combined points scored. The Bills capitalized on a fumble that allowed them to stretch their lead to 35-14 and a little breathing room. Jared Goff did his best to bring the Lions back to within a score, but Detroit could not capitalize on two onside kick attempts in the fourth quarter.
Week 15: Bills at Lions Preview
The Bills head to Detroit for a highly anticipated matchup between two of the best teams in the NFL. Buffalo is looking to rebound from their worst defensive performance since the 2021 season after their 44-42 loss to the Rams in Week 14. The Lions are on an 11-game winning streak and have overcome a rash of injuries while maintaining a one-game lead in the competitive NFC North.
Bills at Rams Recap
The Bills came up short in a 44-42 shootout to the Los Angeles Rams, ending their seven-game winning streak and leaving them with a 12% chance at the number one seed in the AFC. The Rams started the game with a 12-play, 70-yard scoring drive, where they went 3-3 on third down with little resistance or pressure from the Bills’ defense. This drive would serve as a precursor for what we would see the rest of the game.
Bills vs 49ers Recap
The Buffalo Bills defeated the San Francisco 49ers 35-10 on a snowy Sunday night to clinch their fifth straight AFC East crown. Buffalo is the first team to clinch a division this season and the earliest (5 weeks remaining) to do so since the 2009 Indianapolis Colts. With the Bills’ seventh consecutive win and sixth straight game at 30+ points, Sean McDermott is now 8-0 coming off a bye week in his career.
Week 13: Bills vs 49ers Preview
The Bills are fresh off the bye week and welcome the reigning NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers to Highmark Stadium for Sunday Night Football. Buffalo is 7-0 off the bye since Sean McDermott became the head coach and is facing a desperate 49ers team that has lost its last two games. Brock Purdy returns to the lineup but San Francisco will be missing some key players on both sides of the ball. The Buffalo will be without Dalton Kincaid but All-Pro LB Matt Milano is expected to make his return to the field.
Reviewing My Buffalo Bills Preseason Predictions
The bye week has come and gone which makes it the perfect time to revisit some preseason predictions. I had some big misses, players I wanted to see take a leap in their play that in reality, were long shots. I enjoyed looking back and seeing how things are trending statistically and how the AFC East is currently unfolding. Lets start with the where I was wrong.
Bills vs Chiefs Recap
The Bills handed the Kansas City Chiefs their first loss of the season to move to 9-2 and close the gap in the race for the AFC’s number-one seed. The Bills finished the game with back-to-back 10+ play-scoring drives, chewing up almost twelve minutes of the game clock for a final score of 30-21. The Bills ended the game instead of giving Mahomes an opportunity to lead a game-winning drive. This was the fifth straight game in which the Bills scored 30+ points.
Week 11: Bills vs Chiefs Preview
Bills vs. Chiefs week is here. Like many others, I have had this game circled since the schedule was released earlier this year. Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes are the two best quarterbacks in the NFL, and their matchups have proven to be must-see TV. If the Bills have any hope of obtaining the number one seed in the AFC come playoff time, this is a game they need to win.
Bills at Colts Recap
The 8-2 Bills won a turnover-filled affair in Indianapolis for their fifth straight victory and their best start to a season since 1993. Buffalo jumped out to a 10-0 lead fueled by turnovers but quickly saw themselves down 13-10 after a turnover on downs and an interception. They scored 10 points in the final three minutes to take the lead and go into half at 20-13. They wouldn’t look back, stretching the lead to 30-13 before a late touchdown by the Colts to make it 30-20 and hit the over for the gamblers out there.
Week 10: Bills at Colts Preview
The 7-2 Bills travel west to Indianapolis to face the 4-5 Colts. Buffalo will be looking to extend its winning streak to five as Joe Flacco will try to end Indy’s losing streak and close the gap between them and the Houston Texans in the AFC South. The Bills are off to their best start to a season since 2020 and a chance to go 8-2 for the first time since 1993.
Bills vs Dolphins Recap
The Bills escaped a nearly perfect game by Tua Tagovailoa and the Miami Dolphins with a 30-27 victory. The Bills started slow and found themselves down 10-6 at halftime after a Jalen Ramsey interception on a bobbled pass by Keon Coleman ended a promising Bills drive that led to a 14-point swing. The Bills scored points on all four drives of the second half, where we saw five lead changes before Tyler Bass broke a 27-27 tie with a career-long 61-yard field goal with five seconds remaining.
Week 9: Bills vs Dolphins Preview
The 6-2 Bills welcome their division rival, the 2-5 Miami Dolphins, to Buffalo for their second season meeting on Sunday. The Bills were victorious in their first meeting, the week 2 Thursday Night game in Miami, 31-10. Both teams have had different paths to this matchup, with the Bills coming in on a three-game winning streak after the 31-10 victory in Seattle. Miami has lost four of their five games since the Bills loss.
Bills at Seahawks Recap
The Bills handled their business in Seattle and are returning to Buffalo with a 3.5-game lead in the AFC East after their 31-10 victory. I expected a shootout in this game, but only one team got the memo. The Bills started the scoring early, and the defense never let the Seahawks join in and were benefactors of some timely miscues.
Week 8: Bills at Seahawks Preview
The 5-2 Bills travel to the Pacific Northwest for a match-up between division leaders with the 4-3 Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks are fresh off their impressive victory over the Atlanta Falcons, with the Bills coming in on a two-game winning streak after their week 7 victory over the Tennessee Titans. Both teams will be looking to extend their division leads, but injuries to some key players may impact the outcome.
Bills vs Titans Recap
The Bills overcame a slow start and an early 10-0 deficit with 34 unanswered points to defeat the Tennessee Titans 34-10. Josh Allen eclipsed the 300-yard mark for the first time this season while extending his streak of games without an interception to 9, including last year's playoffs. The Bills moved to 5-2 and benefited from the rest of the AFC East teams going winless on Sunday to expand their division lead.
Week 7: Bills vs Titans Preview
The Bills return to Highmark Stadium for their first 1 PM home game since week one, hosting the 1-4 Tennessee Titans. The Titans are coming off a 20-17 loss to the Indianapolis Colts with questions surrounding the quarterback position and whether this may be a few players' last game in a Titans uniform. The Bills made news Tuesday morning, less than 24 hours after their victory over the New York Jets, with their trade for Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper.
Bills at Jets Recap
Another week, I was wrong with my prediction, but in a good way this time. The Bills rebounded from back-to-back losses on Monday night, winning 23-20 over the New York Jets. Josh Allen avoided the first three-game losing streak of his career with one of his best performances against a team he has struggled against. The Bills' defense stepped up when needed to ensure a much-needed victory that moved the Bills into first place in the AFC East at 4-2 and dropped the Jets to third place at 2-4 behind the idle Dolphins.
Week 6: Bills at Jets Preview
Week six is upon us, with the Bills traveling to New Jersey to face the Jets on Monday Night football. Both teams will be looking to avoid a third straight loss, with the winner taking over first place in the AFC East. The Jets made headlines on Tuesday by firing head coach Robert Saleh and replacing him with defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich. Both teams continue to be linked to disgruntled Raiders receiver Davante Adams. The Bills have been dealing with questions surrounding their offense and the quality of their receiver group for most of the week after another disappointing effort in their 23-20 loss to the Texans. No moves were made this week, but one has to think that another offensive dud will change the course of action on Tuesday morning.
